Jhansi Universities

Bundelkhand university of Jhansi is one of the younger generation Indian Universities as it was in August 26 1975 that it was founded. This university spreads over 186 acres, is located in the lap of Kaimason Hillocks and is spread on either side of the Jhansi-Kanpur Highway. Its majestic gate marks the premises of the university. Though Bundelkhand University was founded in 1975, it was an affiliating university that acted as a Degree Awarding institution for both undergraduate and postgraduate students from its affiliated degree colleges till 1986. It was in 1986 that it became a Residential University when various departments became functional on its campus by offering academic programs that were not offered in the affiliated colleges of the University. Today there are over 200 academic and professional study programs offered in Bundelkhand University which includes post graduate, under graduate, diploma and certificate courses. There is a central computer facility in the university that has more than 400 Pentium IV systems using the latest software and accessories. All users are provided with LAN and internet facility here; and though Bundelkhand University has a dial up internet facility, the computers on the campus are upgraded with V-SAT installation. All the institutes on the campus have their own computer labs too. The auditorium of the university is found near the Administrative Block of the university, and is under its advanced stage of completion. It should be ready for use in a few months’ time. The Bundelkhand University has an international center and university Guest House that was constructed following the Indian International Center of New Delhi. There are 4 beautiful suites here, with 24 fully furnished AC rooms. There are also two conference and seminar halls, a beautiful lounge and a coffee shop found here. There are also two swimming pools, where one is for children, two badminton and tennis courts, change rooms and a Poolside restaurant. The campus of the BUIC has huge lawns where it is possible to hold as many as four banquets or parties at a time.
