Jhansi is a city that is connected to major cities in India with its network of roads and train links. As the North-South and East-West corridors intersect each other in Jhansi, many national highways are connected to these corridors. There are many buses in Jhansi that can be used for visiting nearby cities and for travel to distant cities. The Main Bus Stand of Jhansi is found on the eastern side of Jhansi, on the Jhansi-Kanpur highway. Besides the Main Bus Stand of Jhansi, Buses can also be caught at the Railway Station and Elite Crossing. You find many buses from U.P. and M.P. State Roadways Corporations providing connectivity to cities and towns around Jhansi. There are also some private operators with luxury bus services on some routes, including the route to Khajuraho. There is an airport in Jhansi, which is not for civil flights as it is an Army Aviation base. However a Greenfield airport is in the pipeline, with which there will be excellent connectivity between Jhansi and major metros and cities. Today, the nearest operational airport to Jhansi is the Gwalior airport, which is 98km from Jhansi. Jhansi is a big rail junction of central India which is connected to many major cities by direct train links. The railway station of Jhansi is found near Sipri Bazaar where ticket reservation is computerized, and can also be done in the railway station. Tickets can also be bought using the online reservation facility of Jhansi railway station. There are auto rickshaws and tempos near the station, which can be taken to most parts of the city. However make sure you make negotiations on fare, before hiring one. |
